Deaffinity - Indifferent not silent (2011, 2.30 min)
Deaf mute is not a rap video in British Vestige language, dealing with issues of communication, isolation and prejudice. Legends of the removal of colored text to make it accessible to an audience who do not understand BSL.
Although the newsletter is simple, the idea is perfectly executed. The performers are confident and open, the design sharp and vibrant. About 10 seconds, an audio icon appears as if the abundance is turned down, and the rest of the video is dumb.
For me, a hearing person who does not know any sign language, it was a very effective technique. I saw the songs performed in sign language before, but they were translations or covers with original audio playback at the same time, they looked more like an accompaniment (or even as a choreography). To view the Aboriginal composition to sign, no noise, has been a new experience, and powerful.
