ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — A gauge to legalize same-sex marriage in Maryland puts more emphasis on protecting holy freedom than a bill that failed last year, Gov. Martin O'Malley said Tuesday after hosting a breakfast with supporters at the governor's visit.
O'Malley, a Democrat who is making same-sex marriage a priority of his legislative agenda this year, said bill drafters were firstly sensitive to protecting religious freedom in hopes of persuading lawmakers — as well as the say's voters — to support the legislation. It's widely believed opponents would be qualified to petition any bill that passes to the ballot for voters to decide in November.
O'Malley said he believes the Maryland legislation is more personal to on the point of protecting religious freedom than any of the six other states that have legalized same-sex coupling so far.
It is sad that a business like this would not fly in the States. He had the adoration of her, but people like Glenn Beck would use it to stir up some passionate argument as to how a lesson in a state school toddler can confuse the mind of a boy thoughtful he is gay. In truth, I had dinner with two of my friends (a gay match up) not too far from the opposition tea celebration.
