Asked about the option by the Congress and JD(S) to nominate two members each for the House committee, Bopaiah said he would break for their decision and take a final call. Now, the strength of the probe committee has gone up to seven members, with four from the BJP, two from the Congress and one from the JD(S). "The commission would be headed by a member belonging to the ruling party," the speaker said.
Defending his arbitration on issuing showcause notices to the accused MLAs, Bopaiah said it was done to make safe the principles of natural justice and fair play.

Speaker K G Bopaiah said iPads will be provided, but the members will be barred from bringing them into the Legislature.
In the wake of the legislative council secretariat giving iPads to 75 MLCs in December 2011, the circle secretariat also proposed to give the gadget to its 225 members. Though the proposal has been till such time as for a long time, it is being implemented at a time when the three ministers were caught watching disreputable clips on a cellphone inside the House.
