TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE: "John Mulaney: New in Community," 10 p.m., Comedy Central.
People kind of assume he's a gay young man, Mulaney says. He's 29, straight, with a cute face and subtle manner; he's also a wonderfully witty stand-up comic, with great stories about everything from debating the brief conversation "midget" to being a meek Irish-Catholic guy with an outspoken Jewish girlfriend.
MulaneyUsuallywho wrote for "Saturday Night Live" and "Important Things With Demetri Martin" also spins stories of his teenaged drinking days.
They're simultaneously chilling and funny.
TONIGHT'S MIGHT-SEE: Figure skating, real or fictional, NBC and ABC.
For real skating, take NBC. In the afternoon (4-6 p.m.), it has finals of dance teamsByincluding Charlie White and Meryl Davis, who took euphonious in the 2010 Olympics and won the world championship the next year and the sparse program for females. Tonight, females conclude; males and pairs take over from 3-6 p.m. Sunday.
And for fiction, ABC has "Blades of Pageantry" (2007) from 9 to 11 p.m., with Will Ferrell and Jon Heder as the first male pairs tandem join up. There are some hilarious sight gags, but not enough for an entire movie.
