The coating

A winner of the Audience Award at the prestigious Sundance Festival 2010 Blur, Undertow (Contracorriente) is a remarkable little film for a calculation of reasons. Gay drama is both a love story and a ghost story, but not scoot forward thinking it is a rehash of Ghost, because there is nothing like the Hollywood blockbuster. Set in a fishing village on the Peruvian coast clumsy, the film addresses the conflict to be true to yourself, tradition, and what is considered acceptable by the society that we white-hot in.

The story focuses on a young couple who are about to have their first child. Their love for each other seems in good faith, but lurking in the surf of the waves crashing near their house is a secret valley. Miguel (Cristian Mercado, Che: Part Two), the virile fisherman / shop, is madly in love with another man. Santiago (Manolo Cardona) is the partner, a painter neighborhood pub that homosexuality is the subject of much condemnation in the village. Miguel married, Mariela (Tatiana Astengo), is about to give birth and is oblivious to the interests of her husband.When Santiago was killed in a tragic drowning accident, Miguel thinks he is free and lively, but when the ghost of her dead lover appears, he realizes he must make fair decisions about his life.
