Until this question in the show, Aidan and Josh had a pretty typical show bromance. They were best friends and show love, but in this episode, as Josh ran to find a way to save the existence Aidan, he also took time to tell his friend how much it meant to him. I was particularly struck by how physical they were with each other, holding hands and touching.
Looking at these two men did not waver at all to show how they take care of each other made me realize that perhaps the term "bromance" is not what not to describe these kinds of relationships. At least not for me, as a "bromance" always implies a level of ... frivolity, I speculation. What we saw with Aidan and Josh, were two heterosexual men who profoundly and deeply loved in a way that was not the least lascivious, but was incredibly intimate.
There were only two people - two human beings, if you will - which in truth, love one another. I think it was wonderful and remarkable.
